Marin County offers a wide variety of areas to live in.  Southern Marin is influenced by its proximity to San Francisco and contains more urban areas, housing those who work in the City.  Southern Marin usually includes Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon and Belvedere.  Central Marin is a more affordable area with a longer commute to the City.  Central Marin usually includes Larkspur, Corte Madera, Greenbrae, Ross, Kentfield, San Anselmo and San Rafael.  West Marin is a more remote and rural area with wide open spaces, parkland and beaches.  West Marin includes Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Fairfax and a few other small towns.  North Marin is influenced by its proximity to the wine country in neighboring Sonoma and Napa counties.  North Marin includes Novato, Terra Linda and parts of San Rafael.
